MPF Baja LTD

MPF Baja LTD has a long story full with changes. During this period the company went through considerable improvement.

In Baja at 1951 a cooperation was founded, and the activity of this cooperation went on a broad spectrum from wood industry to the building industry. The nationalwide well known name was BLÉVISZ Cooperation. In the sixties BLÉVISZ had considerable export to Germany and Switzerland.

In 1967 BLÉVISZ decided to found the new furniture business unit, and the result of this was the building of the huge furniture factory in Baja. At this time they started with solid fir furnitures and drapped furnitures. At the 80’s BLÉVISZ had 80 % market share on the domestic and export markets. In 1986 IKEA made contract with BLÉVISZ to produce fir beds, therefore a big modernisation was executed. New technologies and machinery was procured also.

At the beginning of the 90’s the members of the cooperation decided to privatise the company. A chance opened, and Bajai Bútoripari Kft founded by six private person bought up the factory of BLÉVISZ. Regrding the market, the weight of export had grown even more. The biggest export markets were Switzerland, Germany and France. Altough the company stopped the production of drapped furnitures, the new assortment of furnitures covered the whole demand of a flat.

Since december 2005. the company is owned 99 % by MPF Holding LLC, and the new name is MPF Baja LTD. Since that time new production activities were started, like paneling, door and window production , CNC works , tool sharpening and real estate business.

Similarly to other members of the MPF Group, MPF Baja Ltd's traditional and modern products have been distributed by MPF Holding Logistics and Commercial Joint-stock Company since January 2006.
